Are you considering a quick trip to the mountains to refresh and replenish your dying batteries in a serene environment? Why not spend a weekend in Shogran, away from all the packed tourist traps. Shogran has everything one desires while being on a trip to the north, particularly Sakoon (comfort). The pleasant weather, aesthetical green meadows, lively alpine woods, and ravishing mountain views are there to take you in their embrace so let's go and glow...
Shogran is a 2,362-metre-high hill station in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province's Kaghan Valley. It's a little over 200 kilometres from Islamabad, halfway between Balakot and Naran, and makes for a great weekend retreat. At an altitude of 2,895 metres, the valley serves as the entrance to the lovely Siri Paye Meadows, which covers the rocky hills of Kaghan like a velvety blanket.
As you are about to enter Shogran, you'll come across the Kewai waterfall. Relax and sit over the colourful bamboos while keeping your feet in the chilly water. And fill your belly with delicious trout.
You step into Shogran and a thought pops up in your mind, "I can spend my life relaxing on the balcony of a Shograni hut." However, you are on a trip, and energise your soul with a fantastic cup of tea, so don't miss the bliss!
They say, let's get lost in the woods, they say the right! Malakandi forest gives you a chance to explore nature in its raw form. This forest is not only dense but a variety of wild herbs and trees can be seen and touched. Trailing through Malakandi fills your lungs with purity and of course, fresh oxygen. It gives you adventure and pleasure side by side - imagine you are walking, sighing, and listening to the murmuring of the cuckoo that soothes your ear - what a lovely experience it is!
Siri Lake is a perfect spot for picnic with your beloved or your family. Imagine, holding the cup of tea and enjoying the weather and hills around. This place is a complete package for those who want to experience the surreal beauty.
Makra peak is 3,750 meters from the ground and it gives you a chance to touch the thick dense clouds and a panoramic view of Shogran valley from the top.
